PRT presents le Marathon International de Torcy 2015
The event at Torcy Base de Loisirs will take place on Tuesday 10th February, 2015.
The race will be run on a FAST, FLAT and accurately measured and certified course of 6.028km, around a lake, on a well maintained pathway perfect for running – see below.
Full marathoners would need to run 7 laps while half marathoners would require 3.5 laps to complete their race.
As the event is taking place during the winter period, we have a relaxed cut-off time of 7,5 hours for runners to finish their race.
The race is open to everyone, no matter what distance you want to run, so If you would like to come along and just run a couple of laps you are welcome.
Course Map and Start Time
Start and finish will be clearly marked at the main centre of the Base de Loisirs at Vaires-Torcy.
9am – Bib number and race pack pick-up
10am – Official race start time for both Marathon and Half Marathon
As its February cold weather conditions should be prepared for, however in 2014 it would have been possible to run this in shorts and T shirt. There may be slightly muddy areas on the track so appropriate footwear is advisable, however the pathway is well maintained so ‘off-road’ conditions will be unlikely – a set of warm clothes for after will certainly be welcome though !
The local sports facility be open, so toilets, changing rooms and showers will be available. A place will also be made available where items can be left under surveillance, however anything left here is done so at the owners own risk.
As with all sports competitions in France, all competitors must have a certification that a registered medical practitioner has not found any obvious reason why you should not take part in a running competition. So before coming to pick up your number please have the following ‘Certificat Medical’ printed out and signed by your doctor. Failure to present a valid medical certificate will invalidate your registration, and you will not be allowed to compete.

Volunteers have an important role in assuring smooth operation of a 7.5-Hour Marathon races. Assistance is needed right now for helping with backup lap counting in 2-hour blocks. If you are planning on accompanying a loved one and can give a couple hours, it would go a long way !
